Anybody ever have this problem. The admiral was bringing up the anchor, rope and chain. Near the chain part, I thought she was coming up quite fast. Heard the chain coming up real fast, then wham.... it does not fit in the cradle properly. It (she) bent the metal half ring that is welded to the cradle. I think that is the reason we cannot fasten the clip on the chain. I am thinking of using a steel bar to straighten the 1/2 ring. Any other sugestions...thanks

Go easy on her - the wife. I feel the same way some times, but if we enjoy boating, then we need to just be happy that they are there and participating. As far as the metal thingy goes, I'll leave that to the experts. I'd probably try to straighten it myself. Be sure to go easy on both.

Can you get a picture of what you are talking about? Is it the actuall anchor pulpit that is bent or the metal safety clip that is on the bow near the windlass itself. A little more info would be helpful. If you are talking about the Metal half ring that is at the very end of the anchor pulpit that can easily be straightened by hand even. It actually may have bent while on the hook.
