Benson Windlass Replacement

I have a 1989 300da with a Benson windlass. The Benson will only take rope for the rode, no conversion to chain or rope and chain. I would like to replace it over the winter lay-up but the existing cut out for the Benson is the problem. I have a teak platform that the Benson mounts on and I don't want to replace the teak just to mount a new windlass.
I hope there are others that have replaced the Benson windlass and have some suggestions.
I did find a great deal on a Lewmar Windlass here is the link but I am OK to any and all suggestions.

They have the 1/2" chain and the 1/4". You need to call for the 1/4" deal.

If your mounting changes slightly, you may want to consider a stainless steel panel under to accomodate yoru new design. There are others ont eh market. I have had a Lofrans AIRON on my last two boats. I wouldn't have anything else considering price and durability. Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply. I think the stainless plate top and bottom is the way to go. I will post pictures when I do this job in the spring.
