Santa created a cool Spring mod for our 390. The installation instructions look straight forward, but I had better get at it soon as it as it has to get done before she launches in late April.

How hard was the exterior work? Were the cylinders hard to get apart? Was everything plug and play or was there any special wiring involved? What is the "auto tab control" wire all about?

I did not add the "auto tab" controller, just the led indicators. I prefer to manually control the tabs. On a boat as big as the 390 the tabs can be left in one position once they are set. Smaller boats are much more sensitive to people moving around and the wind affecting the attitude of the boat. The cylinders must be removed and disassembled. Once removed they come apart easily but I would replace the O rings while apart. The wiring is the biggest obstacle as it has to half the length of th boat in the engine room.

You make a good point about the trim tab setting on the 390. My boat is quite stable and, once set, it is quite stable. Thanx for the input.
