Belleair Beach to Baltimore a 30 day adventure

Congratulations on getting to your baseball game. Crowd looks sparse. Welcome to the Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay!

Thanks for the update.....love this thread.

BD II - Glad to see you made. When do you leave to go back? Enjoy your stay and accomplishment. I know it has to be gratifying. As always - keep us posted by posting. Thanks.

Day 18-20 We spent a few days with friends and family in Baltimore. Went to 3 Rays and Orioles games where the Rays swept the birds. Also ate at our favorite crab cake place (G&M) in Linthicum. I think they must be the best crab cakes in the world . We stayed a night longer than expected at the Inner Harbor Marine Center. It's a first class marina and seems to have all new docks and good security. We will begin our journey home tomorrow heading down the bay.

Day 21 We made a quick trip across the bay to Rock Hall. Talk about being in a different world only 25 miles from Baltimore. We stayed at the very pleasant Rock Hall Landings Marina; it seems like we are still a few weeks from the start of the season, as it was deserted. We enjoyed our 25th anniversary dinner at Watermans Crab House overlooking the Bay. I changed the oil on the generator as it has been over 100 hours. It has about 1000 hours total on it with no problems at all. We will head to Annapolis in the morning.

BD,

Great pictures. It looks like you have a jorney of a lifetime. It's always nice to see happy family together.

Safe voyage returning home.

Congrats on your 25th Anniversary! We celebrate our 26th on June 1st......I am really enjoying your trip.....thanks! I've been told Waterman's is "the" place to eat.....good choice. Wave to our son going by Norfolk....he's visiting his girlfriend's parents for the first time (retired Navy). 22 and 20 in love and both NCAA Swimmers.....how I remember those days but we have just as much fun now at 50 and 46. I plan to enjoy your return trip also.....keep the pictures coming, Mike.

Day 22 We left Rock Hall at about 11AM for a quick one hour run to Annapolis. I topped off with a mere 362 gallons, bringing the total to 1978 gallons. The city was very busy for a Wednesday and the local partiers continued very late. As seen in the picture, there was an unusually high tide with water in the streets. The city brings back a lot of memories as we were married there 25 years ago, my Mom lived there for about 25 years and our son had an appointment to the Academy, but he chose the NROTC route to becoming an officer. We will head to St. Michaels in the morning.

Nice update! I did see the extremely high tide yesterday; there was a Coastal Flood Warning issued also. But I had no idea that a tide like that would do that to Annapolis.

Just joined the thread and LOVING all your pictures and commentary! Especially enjoying the Bay pics, as we've been to almost all of the ports you've planned to hit. Annapolis is our favorite place in the world, and ego alley is fantastic! I know you are enjoying the trip! Be safe and keep posting!

Day 23 We left Annapolis around 11AM for the short run to St Michaels. The tide continues to be exceptionally high with water in the streets and almost covering the docks. We stayed at the St Michaels marina which was fairly empty- it's Thursday with a poor weather forecast for the weekend. Had a nice soft crab sandwich for lunch at the marina restaurant and hard crabs at the famous Crab Claw Restaurant for dinner. The crabs were small but very tasty. Can you tell we are starved for crabs? Thats a downside of living in Florida-you just can't get decent blue crabs. We will head for Solomons Island in the morning.

Enjoy your visit to Solomons, MD. Too bad the weather is not cooperating this weekend, but it doesn't look to be all a wash.

Which marina are you staying at at slomons tonight? We are headed there for our anniversary and staying at the Hilton garden inn. Since we are only going for the night, we are driving and not boating :(. I would love to catch up and say hi! I think we will be hitting stoneys for dinner and then the tiki bar.
Mike & terri

Day 24 We left St Michaels around noon for our destination Spring Cove Marina at Solomons Island. I lived in Maryland for 27 years before moving to Florida and have never been there. There must be more boats per square foot than anywhere else in Maryland. We rode our handy West Marine bikes into town and to the Calvert Marine Museum. The weather was a bit shaky but I found it interesting that a lot of people just go down for the weekend to hang out on their boats and play. I take it for granted living in Florida that I can boat 12 months a year whereas in the mid-Atlantic region boaters are limited to 5 months, so a little foul weather doesn't keep them away. The forecast continues to be shaky, but we left at about 12:30 on Saturday for Irvington. It was a bit choppy with a quartering SE 15 knot wind. This is supposed to be a 30 day trip, but I don't think that's happening- we have a long way to go. It's a good thing I have a nice boss. Mike and Terri, sorry we missed you; we probably left before you got to Solomons.
