Been there twice myself and after the second time, decided to start my own business and am very glad I did so. Yes, it takes time and money to get a business up and running, but if you're successful, you're building equity into something you own and not just renting a job from some SOB who might decide to downsize your butt in the future!

Thanks for all the positive thoughts. I was the sales manager for 2 counties. Before that it was 4 yrs of sales. My degree is in auto mechanics but I don't want to go back into that. I have made some good friends over the year in this business and who knows. Right now we are putting our house up on the market to see what happens. My "current wife" and I would not mind moving. She is a suppervisor of a respiratory department at the local hospital. There are always jobs in her field. At least I found out the guy replacing me was the one I felt was going to replace me at the beginning of the year. He is good friends with our new ass. general manager. Go figure.
