Beach / Sand Anchors

What kind of beach / sand anchor are people using? I am looking at the Reider Cove Deluxe and the Shoreland Sand Anchor. Looking for some advice.

I use a Danforth anchor in the sand.

I also use a Danforth. I believe its a 23lb. I anchor out in Lake Michigan in the sand quite often and even in 2-3 foot rollers which often accompany heavy passing boat traffic, it holds amazingly well.

We use 2 Danforth anchors dug into the sand with lines to the stern (both PT and STB). It is required in our Yacht club.

I use a sand spike. Www.sandspike.com

Works very well either as a bow or backed in as a stern spike.

Sandspike for me too. Works great- easy to push in and pull out of the sand/mud/gravel.

Expensive, but by far the best...Fortress aluninum anchors. They are Danforth style, weigh far less, but bite quicker and sink deeper than a Danforth steel anchor.
