Actually, I think a bit less alcohol, a little more "steering" and alot more "brake" would have been the trick.

A matter of simple physics. Regardless of how you think it happened, ask yourself...

A) How fast was it going? Either the truck or the boat.
B) How such a perfect landing?
C) Why such little dammage to the truck?
