We have a battery switch in the bilge mounted on the same wall as the isolator and battery charger. Have never turned it on and never tried to trace it to see what it is for. We think it is for the gen but the gen starts with out it being turned on. Any ideas what it is for.:smt100

I have also posted this on the elect forum.

Does it say 1,2, both and off?

Not sure, we are not down at the boat. There are two others that we always turn on

Sounds like it's for the generator if/when the other batteries are drained. I would call Sea Ray Customer service. They should be able to tell you over the phone.

Beings we have the same boat, I my be able to help........It's for the generator, mine is actually marked "generator". The two switches in the cabinet below the cockpit sink are marked "port" and "starboard". All three of these switches are on/off switches.

Thank John, but wouldn't this switch have to be on in order to start the gen?

Yes,

I was on the boat all weekend so just to ease my mind I turned off the battery switch for the generator and tried to start it.........no cranking, no turning over, nothing, not a peep. I would start by pulling the switch off the bulk head and see where the cables are landed, if they look correct pull them off and check continuity of the switch in the on and in the off positions. Who knows, maybe it was wired incorrectly at the factory.
