I have 10 six volt golf cart batteries as house batteries. New in 2006.
On shore power they charge at 140 AMPs at 12 volts. On the generator 8KW Quicksilver they generator drops off if I charge them at full rate. It works fine if I charge AT 80% This is about 100 AMPs at 12 volts.
The generator is rated at 33 AMPs 120 volts per side. I can load it 30 AMPs on both sides without either side dropping out.
QUESTION
Do you feel the six volt batteries are shorting out at a high charge rate?
I have load tested them and they indicate they are good.
