Hi all I pulled my batteries today and checked the fluid level in them. They both seem to need a little fluid. My question is, do i use distilled water or should i use sulphuric acid to replace the fluid they need? For the record, they are Marine Max batteries (would those be replacements from original?). Thanks

Mike

Distilled water and make sure you charge them. Not sure if they are org. but with it being a 2003 would think so. How old do they look?

ok distilled water only and i'll trickle charge them after they are filled to where they should be. The batteries look great but then the entire boat does. The previous owner was as meticulous as i am and there really no signs of wear anywhere in, on, or around the boat. If they are original, 4 full seasons is about as much as i'd want to push my luck. I'll check them tomorrow and see if i can find a date stamp on them or something. Any recommendations for replacements if i go that route?

If you get 4 years on them before replacing them, why not do the same thing again? That's pretty good service. I'd keep using them until one fails, and then replace them all with the same brand, style and cranking power.
