I am in the process of getting the boat ready for the water. 1987 Sea Ray Sundancer 340. Does anyone have a picture of how the batteries should be oriented/how the original wooden hold down works? I believe there were threaded rods there at one point but they are long gone.

If your hold downs are long gone I would remove everything and start fresh.

Clean the area well, fill in any holes from previous battery pans and buy the new kind that have the nylon strap.

My 98 290 SD as the kind with the threaded rods attached to a plastic tray and they are a PITA when the rods fall out of their holder when you are trying to drop a 60# battery into the tray while laying on your stomach working through a little access hole.

The one below is like $10.

Fantastic idea. Thank you.

Make certain to cover the terminals, especially the positive cables, so nothing can drop on them and cause a SHORT or spark.
