My shore power operates everything except the charger all of a sudden. The book shows a fuse/breaker, but where ?? Its not behind the incoming wired cover, nor wired inline within the 1st ft. of wirecoming out of the charger before it goes back into the main harness. It's a OEM Guest charge pro 20A, 2-battery type.
As a side note, I recently changed batteries to west marine dual mode.
Assistance appreciated-
oh, and I got a new puppy!

I believe that charger has an internal fuse that you have to pull the cover off to get to.

? there's a 3 x 5 ish size covering the hookup of a large white conduit type wire. I remove it, no fuse. Maybe you mean the entire cover ?

I'm not sure. I think I read it somewhere on CSR. Of course I don't know your exact model number or vintage, so who knows.

Probably your best bet is to google for the installation manual for your particular charger.

Cute puppy! He didn't chew any wires, right?

A couple things to suggest, starting with the obvious.
  1. Did you turn on the Battery Charger switch in the main distribution panel in the cabin? I have forgotten to do this.
  2. Did you check the 2 breakers for the charger on the Main DC breaker panel under the cockpit sole?
  3. Are you getting any lights on the charger itself? .
  4. Did you check the breakers on the charger itself? See below.

The battery charger on my 270 AJ is a Guest 2622A. It has breakers on the charger itself, where the wires attach.

You can find a manual to this model charger at the Marinco website, here. It will show troubleshooting, etc.

PS - you might want to your boat model year to your profile.
