Batteries

1988 415 searay aft cabin. I have three deep cycle/starter batteries. 29 series in series. They start starboard engine, genny and supply power to all the house requirements. One separate starter battery for port engine and cross over. Standard set up for searay I believe. What have you done to upgrade this set up? My batteries are on there fourth season and coming due for replacement. Looking at a better option.

Put in an 8D for the house and get rid of the gen bat. Connect the gen bat to the port engine.

EDIT: I had the exact same boat, but was an EC. No aft cabin and had plenty of room for this. If your a dancer then maybe not.
