Now i know why my fuel consumption is so bad, all this stuff on the boat adds up! I'm getting ready to brave Mexico bay NY in the am, the highest wind Windfinder shows is 10mph at 8pm Saturday and it's northeast so that would be hittin me from the side going from Cape Vincent to Rochester, the rest of the trip is suposedly going to have less wind, I'd actually be in Rochester before 8 pm if everything goes right. So hopefully latteral rollers will be the worst of it.. definitly battening down the hatches, I'm sure water will come in through the front windows under the rubrail, I might have to turn around and try it Sunday if the weather is too nasty (I'll have the wetsuit close by, and partially on if needed)

Well I’m stuck here for today, the bouy off Rochester was reading 4.59 ft, that means 9 ft top to bottom and they are talking about waterspouts whatever one of them looks like, couldn’t be stuck in a better place tho, tomorrow at 5 am is best time. Anyways’ I was futsin with the generator this am, yesterday I started it without the seacock open so every vain on the impeller was gone, I recovered most of them from the inlet hose no less (weird), but I’m thinking of opening the exchanger ends and fire the gen to flush out any other pieces, and then hope for the best, there’s no electric at the cape Vincent municipal dock so the gen would be a nice thing to have, but I want to get up there today, top off the tanks and be ready to go at first light. oh yeah, this the first time the gen impeller has been off in what, 23 years, unless the mechanic spray painted it red after installing it, 316 hrs on it

what a great decision to wait until sunday am to cross mexico bay! left Cape Vincent around 7am and got to Rochester at 6pm doing about 8 mph, the lake was perfect with about a six in chop, sunny most of the time, 11 hours of perfection, I got to see one of them like 100 footers that look like a double decker express cruiser, he had it up on top of the water at about 15-20 mph, what a sight, it was the only boat i saw all day out there, couple ships went by, in all i think i put about 45 hours on the clock last week, best vacation ever, i'm hoping for good weather this coming weekend to possibly head to Hamlin with a bunch of friends

Good old Charlotte. Glad to hear the trip went well. I grew up in Greece and graduated from RIT. Is schooners still open?

oh yea, Shooners, Skuttlebutts, Pelican, they're all still crankin, although some may be closing up for the season. I'll be in the water untill about November 1. Yes the trip went very well, met a bunch of sailors on the Cape Vincent pier the last night that was pretty memerable, but the whole trip was quite a trip, excellent weather all around, I couldn't have planned a better vacation, fell asleep at 5:30 am Monday, then woke up at 8:30 and decided to head for the Islands, of course I live on my boat during the summer so there was no packing to do, except i forgot my tools and had to buy new ones.. Cheers!

yea, I hit Fairhavin 1 night, Cape Vincent and Clayton for 1, then Alex bay for 2 nights, then Cape Vincent one night, and Rochester to the welcoming commity,
