Base equipment needed for new boat

I will soon be taking delivery of my first boat. ( SeaRay 200sd)

Since this is my first boat, I have nothing to start will as far as equipment.

Can someone give me some ideas as to some base equipment I will need to purchase for the new boat?

- PFD's, anchor, dock lines.......

RJH1, wait till you take delivery! Usually the dealer will give you the basic Set-Ups, things that are required by the Coast Guard!
PFD's
Extinguisher
Whistle....Etc.!

Welcome. If you haven't already, I would recommend you take a basic boating safety course. It's at least as important as having the right equipment

I'll second the boating course by your power squadron or CG Reserve. Your insuance co. may give you a discount too.

A handheld vhf - boating course will teach you the basics on how to use it.

Four 15" Taylor Made Fenders, four 3/8" by 15' lines, an anchor suitable for your lake bed - i use a Fortress, flares, fire ext., lake charts, and eventually a GPS.

Your dealer may give you a basic package that includes the required gear, but it may be on the cheap side.

Three really great fenders. Often skippers buy these two small, get good sized one s for your boat. Buddies won't let you raft off them if you do not have good fenders.

Sunscreen by the gallon, at least four dock lines to travel with besides what you leave on your dock while away.
A step up first aid kit
A really good set of water proof charts
