A friend of mine is in the process of purchasing a 44da in the Baltimore area and he is going to need to hire a marine surveyor for the boat and a Cummins tech for the engines. I am looking for local recomendations for both

Thanks for your time.

For the engines, there is a Cummins Service Center in Glen Burnie, MD (near BWI airport) with a marine department that has always sent great and highly experienced guys every time I have called on them. Their number is 1 410 590 8700. It's been a while since I have had a survey but I expect you will get some good recommendations for those.

Great, thanks for the referral.

Has anyone used East Coast Marine Consulting, Capt Bill Weyant?

Mike Previti out of Solomons. He knows a lot about Sea Rays and a few of us have been happy with him.

I can second Mike. Just used him last month for a survey in Annapolis. He was great to deal with. I am sure he is pretty busy now so you may need 2 weeks lead time or more to get him. He did a very good structural review with me and provided quick analysis on the fluids on the mechanical items. He uses Polaris labs, (google it and you can see a sample report). Overall a pleasant experience.

Thanks for the recommendations so far.

Bayside Marine Survey out of the Middle River, MD area Alan for has done numerous boats for myself, daughter and friends. Very through and easy to work with. 410-335-3955.

YES! I used him to survey my boat in 2015, highly recommend him. Very professional, and he spent about 6 hours with us going through every system, making sure it worked and then explaining how to use it and maintain it. I recommend him to everyone I see buying a boat in that area.
