Thinking of making a trip to the Inner Harbor and was wondering if any folks here have an opinion or recommendation for a transient Marina in the area.

Any help would be appreciated.

It would all depend on what you are looking for. The Inner Harbor Marina is great for being close to Harbor Place and walking distance to everything. The Harbor View is close to Federal Hill but a longer walk to Harbor Place. The Marine Center in Canton has a pool on site and a nice restaurants right there, but too much of a walk to the Inner Harbor. Every marina down in the harbor area is just a short walk to the Water Taxi stops so getting around is not a problem. Inner Harbor East is close to Harbor Place and Little Italy and the amenities are much improved, though no pool as far as I know as of yet. Same is true with Henderson’s Wharf though the bath facilities are not great but it is close to Fell’s Point. Out of all the above mentioned for someone’s first time to the Harbor I think the Inner Harbor Marina at the Rusty Scupper would be the best choice, or the Inner Harbor Marine Center. But as I said the Marine Center is not really walking distance to the harbor so a Water Taxi ride would be the way to go in.

I have stayed at least once at all the above mentioned Marinas, and out of all of them the Inner Harbor Marina and Inner Harbor East are my personal favorites….. but it also depend on what activity I am going down for. As an example I have four days booked at the Inner Harbor East Marina on Labor Day weekend for the Grand Prix of Baltimore race. Close to the action! But 4th of July we are going to Harbor View Marina for the week for the fireworks. So any marina in the area you can have a great time!

Have fun!

All the above!

But it depends on what you are looking to do in Bmore. We have 3 kids so when we go we like to stay at Inner Harbor East as it is a short walk to Harbor Place, Aquarium, Science Center, and Port Discovery.

But if you want to be closer to Canton for more adult entertainment and you think you'll use the pool the BMC is great.

How long are you planning on spending in the actual downtown/Inner Harbor area?

I only ask because you stated that you were looking for "a transient Marina in the area". If you are travelling to the area but only plan on spending limited in the actual downtown area, there are a few marinas within a 10 to 15 mile radius to choose from. Most of them will cost less, and you might leave town with a cleaner hull...
