My rear prop has a blade with a small chip in it so I'd like to have it repaired and prop scanned to make sure its not bent.

Can anyone recommend a prop shop that does good work within 30-40 miles of Baltimore?

Thanks,
Michael

I was going to say Miller's Island but that's where you're from - maybe they dont have the ability to scan?

Black Dog in Kent Island but I've heard that they are expensive.

My marina is in Miller's Island, but I live in Perry Hall. This is my only 1st full season with my boat and I had not spoken with anyone about getting prop work done. I was hoping someone knew of a place that could scan.

I did see MI propeller in the phone book. Their little ad said nothing about scanning. may stop by to talk to them next time that I am down that way.

I also spoke with the "Prop Doc" folks in Ohio. They seem to have a good deal, and I kinda like the extra bling they add by polishing the props. My boat is stacked whenever I am not using it so her tail feathers are exposed for all to see a good bit of the time.

Thanks,
M

These are the prop shops that have Prop Scan MRI systems in the northeast.

We have used Miller's Island Props in the past with lots of luck and fast turns, they do good work and have some sort of computer that tunes the props. Check them out...just stop by.

Mine went through Miller's twice last season. Once because the idiot dealer storing it for the winter didn't block it right (sank onto the props) and the other due to that sandbar in Selby Bay. Quick work both times. First time was just some straightening (very slight). Second time was a good 1/4" lip bent on them. They misquoted me on the work. They only take cash from walk-ins. But when I showed up 5 minutes before closing on a Friday with the quoted amount they let me off cheap (apparently working on Nibral is more expensive than regular props).

If you want a clean retail-like place this ain't it. They're all about working on metal there, so don't wear good shoes. They do good work, quickly at a reasonable price. I'd certainly go back to them again.

Thank you everyone. I'll stop by and have a chat with them.

Michael
