I just need the overhead canvas replaced on my boat, 31' Rinker. It would the the small piece forward of the arch and the camper top rear. No sides, no front, etc. I was quoted $2000. Isn't that a bit much? I need new zippers on the canvas and track on the arch but still, $2000??

I just completely redid my canvas on my 31' Sundancer...

Front and rear Bimini, camper back, strata on front, rolled vinyl in rear, redo all the snaps to lift-a-dots.

$6800 total. I think they broke down the prices on my receipt, $2k seems reasonable....

I am in the process of replacing all of my canvas and that seems high to me. I am getting two now bimini's with new stainless steel plus a full cockpit cover for $3100.

From the arch forward, including the stainless and 40 mil Strataglass was $1,850 for my 410 earlier this year.

Complete replacement of all my canvas (upper & lower biminis, side curtains for upper & lower with vinyl and strataglass on the windscreen) was around 4 "boat" dollars.

I think your getting hosed. Check around, I got estimates on mine that were double what I paid...... no harm in checking around ;)

Im glad I do my own sewing. Bought a Consew industrial walking foot sewing machine just for this purpose. I will re-do my canvas over the winter months and my upper seats covers.

Sunbrella and stainless. No glass as there are no sides, bimini tops only.

That seems steep. Last year on my '94 250 EC I had 1 new biminis, 1 new camper stainless, 1 camper top, full eisenglass, and a cockpit cover for $2600. Sunbrella fabric.

Probably more about the market than the price. If that's what they are getting in your area, that's what they are getting. Quality Sunbrella is expensive stuff. $5k last time I did mine, but I got Isinglass, too.

Was that your best quote or only quote?

HEY, nice looking boat. AKBASSKING and I would love to see some pictures of your boat and swap stories about our 300DB's

That sounds like a great deal. The quality of the canvas people I bought from is well known in the area. I've been waiting all summer for them. Right now his backlog is so large that an order wouldn't be done until next summer.

To be sure that I positioned this properly - I am getting two sunbrella bimini's with all new stainless and a full sunbrella cockpit cover for $3050.

Mine was for all new canvas and new custom camper canvas. The only part reused was the forward bimini frame. This was also done at my dock in the water. Guy has 2 mobile canvas trailers fully equipped.

i just got a quote from a guy this weekend. new bimini... full camper enclosure... all crystal clear 20/20 glass... cockpit cover. all sunbrella and subrella supreme on the tops. 5k. 500 upgrade to strataglass.

Here are 2 pics of what we just had done. Sunbrella on all vertical and seamark on all horizontal surfaces. This was an aft curtain conversion. So, that cantilever was added for the camper back (notice, no ugly bars across any of the camper back.... I HATE that look). Strataglass all across front, and rear slim corners. The 3 larger in the rear of arch are rolled vinyl (last better than strata when screens are used)

Not pictured, but included, sunbrella canvas window covers are everything rear of arch, and a full front window cover that goes on the outside of the glass.... all canvas is new.
