I have a 1997 Sedan Bridge with the original #600RT Chart Plotter that is supposed to be viewed on the Radar screen. The radar works fine. When I turn on the plotter the screen gets all distorted/squiggly.
I have had the battery changed in the plotter - problem still exists.
I've been told that the unit is not worth fixing or can't be fixed and I should replace it.

Anyone have a cheaper fix?- I'm not in a position to spend big dollars on new electronics. Is there a later year plotter that maybe I could find -used- that will replace my #600RT- that I may find on Ebay/somewhere that will integrate with my Ray #40/41XX Radar?
.

Thanks for any input you can give.

Bud

I have a similar setup. I have had this happen. Check your manuals for a complete reset of the radar and the chartplotter. Not sure what is going to happen to your stored data, so be prepared to lose it, but you are going to lose it either way, I guess.

I had the same failure. Your pretty well out of luck. I am a former Marine Electronics tech and used to svc. those, the horizontal osc. / power supply is bad, no repairs/parts. I found a used Garmin 3205 gps for nav., connected NMEA 183 to the old Autohelm A/P, tracks well..
