Bad Marinco shore power cords-what to do?

We hav two 30A 25ft cords that look fairly brand new. They were in the floor storage when we bought the boat but the problem is they don't work. Im figuring that the plugs may be bad or something but for the price of buying plugs and installing them you could buy a new, unmolested cord. Is there any kind of warranty on them? I would love to have a couple extra cords to use at different marinas and I hate to just throw them out without knowing whats really wrong with them. :smt017

Hey Skuza, Call the Marinco customer service dept., I called them once cause I had a red "power on" led that was out on my cord and they sent me a new one after I sent the old one back. They are a great company and who knows, they may help you out.

Thanks Petep! I just called them and thats all you have to do. I'm somewhat risking the cost of shipping because these cords are pushing the 5 year limit. He did say that they are pretty flexible if they are a year or so over as long as they are in good shape. Thanks again and keep enjoying that 460 for us! Awesome boat.

Skuza, that was my experience with them also- class act, of course they don't sell anything cheap-but they do stand behind their product. Are you going to Aquapalooza? I hear it's on Gull Island this year.

Me or my father did not attend last year. I am surprised they would have it out there due to all the bad publicity the island gets! It is a beautiful place though. I have always hated anchoring around that island due to nerves, current, wind and waves. Had the boat start drifiting away one year due to a change in wind direction/lack of scope. Lost an anchor out there last year due to the knot at the chain/rope joint coming apart. Bad luck out there I guess. :huh:
I would like to attend this year to see all types of SR's and drool over the big ones, 460's included. :grin:
Short story on the 460 is my Dad almost bought a clean 80hr '99 a few years back and has wanted one ever since. Only now with a hardtop.
