Bad Flip Down LCD 320DA Midcabin

The KEC 10.4" flip down LCD monitor mounted to the ceiling of the mid cabin on my 320DA has stopped working. The DVD plays and the sound comes out but there is no picture. It appears that the back light is bad on the LCD screen. Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone found a similar replacement unit?

Did you look online or call the manufacturer to see if a replacement backlight is available?

I've replaced several of these in laptops and LCD monitors. Some of them are quite easy to replace once you get the cover off of the unit. I wouldn't write it off until after you've investigated parts availability. You could always take it apart first to see if the bulb itself has a part number on it.

The distributor and parts dept is in new jersey. I beleive the address and phone no. is on the warranty card and owners manual if you still have them. If you don't have them I can see if I do. If you do need to replace the tv there are units for sale all over the internet, but you may want to go up to a 17". good luck!

Go to a site called millionbuy.com and click Mobile Video. I saw the exact same flip down there for around $120 a few months ago.

Now, doesn't SR charge like $1800 for that?

Just to check, on my portable DVD player there is a switch to select the internal display or an external one (via the video out port). Not sure if this is even available on this model, but thought about it b/c more than once I've had mine on external and there was sound but no video on the LCD.
