Is anyone using Bad Elf Pro, Pro+ to access GPS for non-cellular Apple/Android devices.

I currently have an IPAD 2 that doesn’t have a cellular interface. I would like to have Navionics to backup my Legacy Raymarine E127 Multi Function Display without paying $600 plus for a new tablet. I understand that Bad Elf will prove the GPS interface for $129/229. I’m just not sure how well it works. Please let me know if you’re using Bad Elf.

Thanks in advance Ralph

iPad 2 with Navionics and bad elf. I use it as back up extra screen.

Thanks Henry. Are you using the Bad Elf Pro ($129) or Bad Eld Pro+ ($229). How far offshore can you get a signal. Also any installation or other problems. How long have you been using.
Thanks for the reply

I have a pro and use it as a back up system everywhere I travel. Always worked even at 35k feet taped to the window of a 747 going to Europe. Great set up.

I’ve had it a couple years, unfortunately it’s on the boat in storage so I can’t ID it for you. My guess it’s not the + model as it cost under $100 when I bought it. I’ve never tested the distance off shore, but I believe it is a true GPS, so it should work as long as it can get a satellite lock. I do know it has worked while we have been out of cell range.
