My 94 290DA has a bad dimmer switch. It has the EL kit in it by what I can tell so I tested the power in and ground with the NAV switch on.It was 12v.I tested the blue and got nothing. The blue also leads to a little black box with the EL sticker on it for the strips(cross finger they work).

Where do I go about getting one of these little 3-wire dimmer(rheostat) switches for a 12v?

I see a bunch for true LED use but that seems weak for a whole mes of 12V gauges lights.

That or I'm going to bypass the dimmer altogether and wire it full on with the NAV switch for on/off.

I'd rather have the dimmer if it is reasonable.

I wred the gauge lights into the NAV switch until I find a dimmer switch...but of course the EL strips don't work at all.I guess I need to find a replacement transformer.

I do have a good number of it.

EL parts are easily available. Google it. The dimmer is available from most marine supply catalogs.

Best regards,
Frank
