I took a year off from boating last year due to personal reasons but have been back in the water for 2 weeks now. Took her out Saturday for the first time since the summer of 2014. Everything was flawless with the exception of her captain...me. WORST docking job I have ever done in my life. Sad part, I think the max wind was like 1/2 mph. I've been boating since I was a kid...that was just embarrassing. Luckily, the marina was still fairly empty so I have plausible deniability....

Welcome back! I took almost 25 years off and have been back in the water for about 6 weeks. I was surprised how easily I remembered the way to slide it into my slip. I guess it was re-beginners luck because after the first couple of times, I suddenly couldn't get it in the slip to save my life. I finally realized my initial confidence had caused me to speed up, so I slowed it waaaayyyyyyy back down and it's all good.

Welcome back to boating! Possibly the most fulfilling AND frustrating hobby ever!

I wouldn't worry too much about the docking prowess at this point. It will come back to you!

Welcome back! One thing is for sure...you won't find a better place to get advice on spiffing up your boat.
