Back in the water for 2017

My season officially started today, boat performed well on the shake down cruise despite the 3 to 4 waves breaking over the break wall.

Hope it warms up for you soon. I've been meaning to ask you something Woody...I am going to be up at Mackinac in June with the whaler. Where would be a good place to launch in Lake Superior to go check out the Pictured Rocks?

When you take your Whaler to Mackinac, we expect lots of photos? Where do you trailer it to up there?

I usually trailer it to Mackinaw City. In the past, I have combined the trip with a couple days in Leland, Torch Lake and Charlevoix as well. I don't know if I'll do that this time....heck, I feel silly for saying it, but I am actually considering having my wife drive the whaler up, and flying the airplane to Mackinac. That way we would be able to take aerial tours of the Lake Superior region as well as Beaver Island and everything in between.

Having two boats and an airplane seems excessive to me still, but it is a burden I am willing to bear.

Munising would be the place to start. It's about 120 miles from the north end of the bridge. The Pictured Rocks starts there and runs for 30-35 mile east up to Grand Marais, If you start at the west end it'll be easier to see what a lot of folks think is the cooler stuff, the last several miles before Grand Marais is dunes.
