As I have posted before, need a new cone clutch. Had originally planned to do it myself but since I'm recovering from surgery I talked to a local reputable shop. Problem is the part is back ordered. Been about a month now and no word back from the shop on whether or not they could track one down. Anyone have a similar issue? Here is the part #

My O/D serial number is 0W291450

Hate to do it but may have to put it back in this summer and limp it through again this year...ugh

I thought I had an issue a couple of seasons ago with it going into gear and not catching right away. However I had the shift cable replaced and adjusted and it seemed to fix it. That cone clutch isn’t a cheap part. My shop was ready to replace it. Glad I decided to take one step at a time.

Can always take it out and flip it around to buy time. Forward takes more load/wear than reverse

i think if they can't get the new part i may take it to them to have them reinstall the outdrive since i already have it off and have them check the shift cables, etc but i'm like 98% sure its the clutch. local shop sold me the wrong oil for it and i didn't catch it until after it started slipping

Is it slipping with the correct oil? I’ve read that sometimes that fixes it as well. (I’m guessing yes but I thought I’d ask anyway)

Yeah. Put the correct oil in it last summer and still slipped. This is what the local shop sold me. I always use Marc/quicksilver stuff for just about everything but i didn't plan ahead and had scheduled to go to storage assuming this shop would have the good stuff but they had Sierra.
