Autopilot and non feedback steering.

Would like to install an Octopus R type autopilot drive. Cant install it with a non feedback steering. How can I tell if I have a non feedback steering system?
I have a 1986 270 with the stock rack and pinion steering helm. My power is a 2007 mercrusier 8.1 with a bravo3.
can someone help me out here? cant find any info on it.:smt100

You can test this by moving your lower unit back and forth. If your steering wheel moves when you move the out drive, then you have "feedback steering".
