Has anyone tried using an electronic sea water valve with a Kohler generator? I had water get in mine and by the manual 'the seacock is to be closed when not in use.

Just run the generator while you're out. They like to be ran vs sitting.

And make sure someone didn’t install a scoop strainer on the inlet. Those will force water into the engine when underway.

Well , I think I have learned a valuable lesson. Truns out you can't use a garden hose hooked to your home pressure. Guess I should have read the manual before trying to operate things.

Ouch, is it hydro locked or did you get it running?

So ,it looks like its ok. Changed the oil and filter 2 times (once then again after running about 90 min.)
started ok ,and ran about 5 hours . I still need to adjust the choke . It doesn't like to start when cold.
So if you want to run your kohler out of the water ,get a bucket of water and stick the hose off the sea cock in it. LESSON LEARNED!
