Auto bilge pump

Hey all...
A novice question here.
how much water needs to be in the bilge before the pump automatically turns on?

Without pouring a bunch of water in the bilge, how do I know it is functioning properly?

Enough water to lift the flapper.
To test it reach down by hand and lift it up slowly. you will hear it run.

Does it have float built in or remote spot? Takes a lot especially if its high water float .

Yes.... It is a high water float.
Would it not just float when it is submerged?

Also, anyone know where the high water bilge alarms and panels are located?

Not sure on your, mine is on dash signal board.....
If it has high level alarm lifting the float switch will cause alarm to go off..... follow the sound.
