Hi everyone! Recently acquired a new to me Sea Ray SLX from 2005 and am finding a bit of work is needed for the stereo.
The boat is currently wired with six component satellites, each comproised of a 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter. Six external crossovers are located under the port bow seating which also houses a four channel amp powering all six separates. Based on what limited playing I have done with the head unit, I believe this is currently wired in mono (heaven only knows what reason) as fade and balance from the head unit have no impact.
Under the bow seating on the starboard side is a bridged two channel amp powering a 10" sub located under the helm seat.
I am currently weighing the pros and cons of replacing the satellite speakers. Most aftermarket speakers I have found are coaxial two ways, but I cannot find much for project records of others replacing their speakers.

- If I go this route, am I best served just leaving a disconnected tweeter in the existing locations?
- Have others predominately replaced component systems with coaxials?
- If replaced with coaxials, is it suggested to rip out the external crossoverse as well?
