Attwood V1250 bilge pump?

So came to boat today and opened engine hatch and due to the rain there was water in bilge. My question is how high before it automatically pumps? I hit the switch and pump fired up and took care of the water but there was a good amount in there

Each bilge pump is triggered by the switch with floater. Older floaters have small round tabs on the sides for testing them manually. The newer type don't have them and the floater needs to be moved right by the back part where the wires go in to the floater. Anyway, it's critical part of spring recommissioning to ensure that every single floater is working and the pumps are pumping water out. Otherwise, one day you may see your boat under the dock.
