I just took off the corroded heat exchanger and an not sure why there is so much corrosion in this area. The genny seemed to be sagging at the corner where the raw water entered the unit, so much that the removable "zink" could not be unscrewed since the bolt head was vitually sitting on the fiberglass. The rest of the heat exchanger was wegded onto the black plastic pan under the genny (in photo). You can see the mount in question with the first photo and the gap at the top of the mount with the bolt protruding - does this look right???

Ok, now that I've figured out how to post photos... how do I change the category to which the thread is assigned?

I've got some questions about my Westerbeke 4.5KW Genny's one motor mount (seems to be sagging) and also the question of corrosion on and around the heat exchanger area.

There is probably a rubber bushing that should be filling that space and holding the unit up off the lower mount bracket, you are also missing a bolt in the mount bracket on the block.

Yeah, it looks like the rubber in the mount is dissinigrated.
