Atlanta Boat Show Anyone? Chattanooga or Nashville Shows?

We are thinking of going to the Atlanta show next weekend. That is if the wife doesn't have to have knee surgery before then. I am hoping the there is a good list of vendors for accessories. It is about a 4 hour drive.

We already booked our airline tickets and hotel room for the Miami boat show. I missed the Lauderdale show this past fall after getting bit by an itsy bitsy spider that landed me in the hospital for 7 days and darn near cost me my foot.

Chuck,

I think I'm going Thursday as well. Looks like Friday and Sat are going to be in the 60's, so I might try out something that I haven't done much of lately - BOATING!

Carter,
Hope to see you there. Did you move your 340 to the TN River too? What marina are you at on the river?
Chuck

Just bought my ticket. Will be there on Saturday. Guess I'll have to fight the rug rats. Will also be hitting the Falcons vs Seahawks, next door, in the Georgia Dome, on Sunday.

Hey Chuck,

We're going to be there about 5 this evening.

Reward is still at Park Marina on Allatoona. We have one more load to get off of her and then she'll be ready for sale. OSD is at Chickamauga Marina in Chattanooga. If we can't sell Reward, I guess we'll have "his and her" boats!

Well Mr. Charles, Please tell us how it was first hand? How was the 2013 Atlanta Boat Show? Hope to see yall this weekend. 72 degrees on Sunday. Hell ya.

It was a good show - you could buy the 1.9 Mill 540 'dancer for a boat show price of 1.5 mill....Sue and I always get tickled walking by the Ranger Tugs! Got some good info on a KVH system for OSD...

The 540 was beautiful though - wow! MM Atlanta gets their first 510 next month and its already sold.

Carter, I'm guessing but it's probably the same Boat (510) that was at the NY Boat Show and it was sold before it even got there!!

Carter,
Sorry we missed you. Left about 3:30. I was very disapointed in the show.
IMHO it was about half the show as last time (couple years ago) I was there. No owners club at Sea Ray (MM booth) said Sea Ray did not send any hats. I was told the 54 and the 370 was still avl. Did not hear the MM bell ring once the whole time I was at the show. No sailboats of any kind.

We enjoyed it. I thought there were more bigger boats. No sailboats...but since we can still buy fuel, I'm not sure why people buy those anyway. It was a little early to try the adult refreshments for us, and we only stayed about three hours. The kid's section was lots smaller but a ton of boats. MM had a huge display but it was geared more for entry level...or that was our gut. We didn't like the Venture...or whatever Searay's 370 outdrive boat was...as much as we expected but maybe it will grow on us as we see it in the water. Lots of topside space, as you might expect from continuing the hull a couple of feet behind the outdrives, but not as much space below as we expected to see on a 370. Nice Azimut 40 for $590k. Bitchin' shower doors! They are semicircular and rotate on a track to make a shower tube. Thought it was awesome! The 42 Regal at Singleton seemed a bit disproportionate. By making two completely separate staterooms, the cabin was a bit squished and the tall deck height made the room seem a bit bulbous to us...but that's just us. Lots of booths but none selling dog life vests...which was the whole reason we went (and came back with a jetski, go figure). Bell rang at MM while we were there a couple of times, but not sure whether it was for selling Searay boats or cupholders. Wish I had seen Chuck or Carter there...bummer!

Just got back home & I agree with Jedi. We enjoyed it very much. Sure, not as many boats as 4 years ago, but PLENTY to see. The 540 is what dreams are made of & we spent some more time on our more realistic 330.

Vendor presence was decent, again not as many as you could fit in the hall, but enough to keep us busy. I bought a few items, one of which I'll post a thread on after I get an E-mail reply from Jim. I REALLY like this product & want to share it. But don't want to break forum rules as I may have a future interest in the product.

I spent a decent bit of time on the Regal 45 Sedan. It has some nice features and some real nice finishes. A couple things that I really did NOT like. But I won't bore you with those. My slip neighbor & friend is a Regal owner & this is his "dream". Again a lot of nice features & positives, but space utilization/layout is not one of them.

We don't need anymore hats, we don't want to wade through cookware vendors & we like listening & learning about boating. So....We will go next year, to make it 5 in a row. We will go on Friday to avoid children. We bought a lottery ticket so we will continue to dream about ringing that bell!!!

We just got back. I liked the 370 but my wife and I agree that the cabin below was just an open space. Not as much room and you would think (though it could be a perfect lake boat). That 540 Sundancer is a thing of beauty. Between MarineMax, Singleton and Watersports central there was a strong wakeboard presence. My wife noticed that there were virtually no Sundecks because of all the ski-nautiques in the MM space. Had fun will go again.
