Just wondering how many of us will attend this year.

My wife asked if the Chattanooga or Nashville shows were worth going to. Anyone ever been to either of those & how would you compare it to Atlanta?

There is no comparison between Atlanta and Chattanooga. It may be quarter. Of the size.

I of course knew they (Chattanooga & Nashville) would be much smaller. Hell, 1/4 of the Atlanta show is of no value to me. Just wondered about the quality. Vendors, parking, that kind of stuff. If Chattanooga has 3 vendors selling knives, food processors & cookware, I'll pass!

I attended the Nashville show last year. It was all bass boats, pontoon boats, and wakeboard boats. A total of 3 cruiser and you had to wait in long lines to view those. The knife, food processor, and cookware folks were there too. I went up there planning to spend the day. Ended up staying maybe an hour.

Maybe I will try the Atlanta show this year.

JP- The Atlanta show has its share of junk but its huge. We have been the last 4 years & its easy to make a day of it. If you plan on Saturday, get there when the doors open. Otherwise, (by 1pm) it looks like Romper Room in there as unattentive parents & their little crumb snatchers take over.

We are going on Friday morning.

Thanks for the heads up. It will have to be Saturday, for us, so we will try and get there early.

I have been to the boat shoe here in Nashville a few times and to be honest it is a joke. The big show stopper last year was a waterskiing squirrel. It was like watching an Indy race...,I was hoping for a wreck. Couldn't wait to see that damn squirrel hit the wall...

We are going to the Miami Boat show in February...sure hope that damn squirrel isn't there...

I am thinking about hitting Miami, also.

I have no other real shows to compare it too but vendors galore and, at least in past years, everything from PWCs to Cruisers to Bridge boats. The show has more than enough bass boats & pontoons too, but the vendor displays & learning opportunities make it well worth it for us. I absolutely hate the onslought of kids & thier supposed legal gaurdians that take over after lunch on Saturdays so its Friday morning for us. Looking very much forward to it as always.

ps... I know I sound harsh about the kids in my posts about the show, but it is in the spirit of providing information, not bashing.

I think we are going to attend the Nashville show, just for something to do. It is the first time since we have owned our boat. I'm interested in the different perspective I will have on all the other-than-a-boat items at the show...

Even if you can get into the Nashville show for free it is not worth it. We have been going for 10-15 years and last year was our last. Now if you want to see bass boats and pontoons it is the place to be.

Yep, none of the above for me. My wife, brother, and I have watched the decline of the boat show for the past several years and last year was our last too. About the only ones left going to are Annapolis and Miami. Miami might be fun if we can get the time off work.

Hmm...our accumulated Atlanta Boat Show wisdom...in no particular order. If you have the chance, go early during the week although the vendors are less negotiable...sometimes we've targeted a purchase and come back Sunday. Much less traffic and a far easier experience during the week. If you have kids, take them out of school and enjoy the day. If you drink diet vodka tonics, take your own diet tonic...the bars don't carry a lot of mixers and historically we've found the ones in the back give you better pours because the lines are shorter. You can get free passes for Thursday online.

Ditto!

That about sums it up. I can vouch for every thing but the tonic(grin)
