5.7 Merc EFI, 250 hp, with Bravo II outdrive
I found a beautiful 1995 25' Sundance that I would like to purchase. I want to use this boat to pull a tube or water skier in addition to just cruising and sitting near the beach. I am concerned the engine is undersized to have 6-7 people on board and still pull a skier. I also want to trail this boat for a couple of years then dock it. Any thoughts or concerns about this boat are welcome. Thank you.

Is a 250 Sundancer? What motor? What outdrive?

Welcome to CSR!

Yep, it would help if you tell us what engine and outdrive you are talking about.

MWPH is correct, this isn't the right boat for 6-7 people, much less pulling a skier. We both own the same boat.

Yep....my friend has got one, it's a Mastercraft. Mid engine straight shaft, ballast tanks, seats 8-10.

I had 7 people on mine a few weeks ago and it worked fine but i dont know about pulling a tube too. (5.7 EFI / BIII)

Hello, I am new to the forum, but not to watersports. Tube is ok as long as you have enough tow rope to get them away from the stern. Too many people I see have small childern in a tube too close and they are inhaling exhaust fumes and getting sick. You don't need a waterski rope, but get a proper tube tow rope. Your boat puts up too big of a wake for watersking, I would not ski behind my 240.

Sorry. Had a hard time logging back in. It is a 1995 25' Sundancer with a 5.7 Merc Bravo 2 outdrive. The rating says 10 people or 1800 lbs. I take it the label is misleading. Phlordia how does the boat ride with 6-7 people on it?

I had 7 people on mine a month ago and it performed well, I also had a full tank of fuel and a large cooler full at the stern. You could definately tell there was extra weight but it got up on plane and rode nice. I was concerned about the list it sometimes gets when running a lighter load (play with the tabs a lot) but actually with the heavier load it never listed at all, Steady as a rock.
