After owning my boat for twelve years or so I must have the wrong year in my profile. Yeap, after attending homecoming I looked up my boat's info on Sea Ray's web site and found that the 207 hull design must have started in '79. The style of seats and the engine cover for the '79 don't match mine, but the '80 style does. When I bought the boat I was told it was a '78. I could not find a 207 listed for that year. So do I own a 34 year old classic or a 32 year old classic? Help!

No title just a bill of sale. It was an ol...classic boat when I bought it. As for the Hull ID# I dont have it right now, but I'll have to get it checked. I was just surprised that when looking at the dealer literature on the Sea Ray web site my 207 matched up to the '80 year model and the '78 year didn't even show that as a model.

It's a 1978. Construction started in 09/1978.

Call your insurance agent to find out the hull number. They will have it and then you can decode it to learn the year construction was started on it. The reason I say it that way is if the boat is started in one year and the HIN assigned to it, but it isn't finished until the following year, it carries the year construction was started.
