So I thought a date out on the water would a nice time. Apparently not all men can deal with a woman calling the shots. I think my boat is a better mate. If you can't play the field then take your balls home. Sorry just needed to vent
 
I don't know....a woman with a 37' SeaRay is kinda hot, and in control? Those are far and few between!

I guess the next time you ask one out for a boat ride you should advise them your in charge of the boat and everything on it. Think of the fuel you would save

Its hard enough for me to find another COMPETENT dude or chick to give me a hand with my 270. I guess most folks think there is an AP for that....being docking or anchoring....lol

I hate to say it but some of us have fragile egos. He may not have been prepared to fully understand the depth of your skills and assertiveness. We like to be able to contribute.

I once dated a woman who was a couple of years my senior - only 4 or 5. She was a professional as am I. We met through our jobs. She would introduce me to her friends like I was a mannequin. She didn't value my opinion and didn't need my input on anything. I stayed with her for three months - 3 more than I should have.

I would love to have my gf take charge and captain my boat so I can sit back and enjoy it even more but shes a dits sooooo.....

Ooooooh, you better hope she doesn't get on this site! Are you bringing her to AC in July? I'll have to see if you are correct in your observations regarding her being ditzy.

Bella Bella I guess I'm the lone standout in this crowd.....when I was single I dated a gal who owned about a 21' boat and did an excellent job at the helm. That REALLY turned me on. I guess I'm one go enjoys being with a woman who is competent and knows it!!

I'm wondering what the circumstance was. Did he not want to help, or was you ordering him around, the way most women would take offense to also?

I ask that because, if I take a lady friend on the boat, I do all the boat handling, UNLESS, she wants to help. Then I am very careful to not ask to much of her, OR allow her to do what she is comfortable doing. Meaning if I was barking out orders I'm sure she would be offended, and not enjoy the ride.

A 370 can be a handful for an experienced crew. Maybe you embarrased him because he did not know the terms, or what you were asking him to do.
The shoe being on the other foot is tuff huh?!

Nope, I'm with you! Smart and competent......and knowing and owning a 37', she's got my vote. As a boater it would be so nice to have someone there to take over and know what they are doing.

In Bella's defense, if she was docking or the guy was moving all around the boat while underway....I understand
 
Sometimes it's just nice to sit back and enjoy the view of a woman taking charge. Gotta respect a woman that can handle 2 throttle levers at a time getting in and out of a dock.
 
Woody, if she had 'em it was because he handed 'em up. Nobody can take 'em from you if you don't want them to have 'em.

I've met some very powerful corporate women in my day and never felt emasculated by any of them. Impressed? You bet, but not emasculated.
