RWC engines. There are cracks forming around the neck of the hose at the thermostat housing. No leakage yet. Some salt residue forms, but can be washed away. Rubber seems firm, not squishy. Are they ready to rupture?

Looks like someone tightened the clamps down in the wrong spot (and too hard), at one time. Are they "ready" to blow? No. But, you know as well as I do that they will blow when you are as far away from civilization as possible.

I'm no expert but I would replace them just from looking at the condition of the ends and they look swelled up. Better to be safe than sorry. Relatavely cheap to fix also.

I agree with Dennis, i'd change them in a heart beat, now that your near shore....

Are those the original hoses? if so, it is time for new ones.

Thanks,

I'll be calling my mechanic for an estimate. Unfortunately all the hoses are the same age. Probably won't be simple or cheap. Better safe than sorry. Planning Bahamas trip in August.
