Are people buying new Sea Rays?

I've only bought one new boat, a 16' open bow. Since then I've always bought used boats that were 3-5 years old. I keep them in pristine condition so when it comes time to sell it's an easy flip.

Problem now is that the current boats SR is making have no appeal to me, specifically the 320/370 Sundancer. Man, those things are fugly. Other brands I really like are Formula and Tiara but getting into a 3-5 year boat of +-35' is a much higher cost of entry than before.

If my plan works I'm due to make a change in 2025 and have no idea which direction I'll end up going.

BTW, I'm probably the minority here, but I like outboards on a mid-sized 35' boat. A lot!

I am leaning towards outboards as well.

As I prep mine to be sold and look to a larger Sea Ray I’d like to add this wish list
1st and most important it must be a true Sea Ray boat. They are built like a tank!
2nd inboard only with CATs 40 to 45’

the rest is normal wishes.
The prices they are asking for a new boat is insane

I am shocked at the price of the new Searays.

I am currently building an American Tug which in my opinion is a much sturdier and higher quality boat albeit for a different use. On a dollar per dollar cost I don’t see what Searay is offering for the price point.

The American Tug comes with a well appointed interior, well thought out interior, quality hardware, and customized features I doubt Searay would do. Resale should be acceptable. The American Tug of similar length will be less money. True I will only have one diesel engine and no outboards

Brunswick:
Brunswick sold $727M in fiberglass boats last year, up from $571M the year before.

That doesnt mean they selling more boats, selling more expensive boats raises the numbers the same.
Who’s numbers look better? A builder selling 100 $100k boats, or the yard building 5 of Bezos yachts?

Well....they do offer a cruising speed above 11kts! :):)

Only kidding. I'd love to get into a trawler/tug someday. Though the wife would likely never go for it.

Better get Carshield. Boatshield?
Blow one up out of warranty. Replacement are going for close to 20k with 16 month wait.
I can get replacement 7.4 by this weekend for $8k.
If doubts, go over to The Hull Truth and see all the threads with guys not being able to use their boats for well over a year now.
I don’t make this up.
