Not as BIG as the BIG one however I am sure it will be great. Are there any CSR member headed to join the party?

By the way it is at Hayden Island this year.

We'll be there!! It should be great fun! It's at our marina, Columbia River Yacht Club.

There is a big boat event the night before so you have the best seat in town.

See you soon

Scott

Hey Scot, we took a dink cruise into Salpare bay on Saturday. I don't think we saw your boat. Where did you go for the holiday?

We were there... in person also. We are in A-1, one of the 30' slips. Sunday was crazy busy with parties every 4 boats. The fireworks were great this year across the river, lots of fun.

Hope to meet both of you someday in person, I'll be there wednesday working from the boat since us sales types can work anywhere we have internet connection.

I'm taking delivery of my 550 on the 15th and will be spending some time in the Portland area before we head up the Columbia to home in the Tri Cities. Unfortunately we won't be there for Aquapalooza so we'll miss the party.

Dive Girl, we'll be spending at least a couple of days at CRYC. Our club (Richland Yacht Club) has reciprocal moorage with them and I've heard it's the cheapest place on the river to buy diesel.

If any of you have the time to make the trip, cruise on up the Columbia to our area for the weekend of July 23-25. That's when we have the hydroplane races on the Columbia and it's a good time for 'crowd viewing' as well as watching the boats.

In years past several boats from CRYC have come up for the races.

Gofirstclass, I'd LOVE to see your 550! Let me know when you're at the club. Yes, fuel prices there are great, membership has it benefits!

Spot, I too am able to work from anywhere! Having an internet connection is key though! We'll be heading out to spend somewhere on the river this coming weekend, not sure where yet though.

That would be the only bummer mooring at Salpar... no fuel. Donaldsons is the only close place for us. At Donaldsons his dock sure got tore up when the boat getting fuel a couple of months back blew up. A new big boat owner not knowing what a blower is for, sad that the selling party did not walk them trough the process.

Dive Girl, I won't have internet access while we're down there unless CRYC has wifi on the docks. We should be arriving there around the 19th to the 21st. I can't be more exact at this point because I'm joining up with 4-5 other boats from our club that are in St. Helens now and will be cruising up that direction. If things go on schedule (do they ever??? ) we should be pulling out of Multnomah Yacht Repair around the 17th. A day or two around Hayden Island then to CRYC for a day or two before we head back.

Keep your eyes peeled for a half dozen boats flying this burgee...

There should be a 53'Navigator, 45' Bayliner, 45' Ocean Alexander, 40' Ocean Alexandere and the 550 with a bunch of old farts hanging around them.

CRYC has wifi, I can't get the signal because we're too low, bigger boats sit up higher and can pick it up. There's a computer in the club house you can use, during business hours. It's up by the office.

How did the AP event in Portland go, what was the turnout like? We could not make it unfortunately. Marq

We were there and it was fun. We pulled into CRYC on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning as the boat started to arrive we took a stern-tie position next to a couple of nice Sundancers from CRYC.

We missed the Saturday nite party because we went to the Jackson Browne concert at Maryhill Museum. I'd much rather have stayed on the docks but I didn't have a lot of choice in this matter. You guys know how that goes some times.

Spot, I think I was the one who helped you tie up. Were you on the part of the dock that ran parallel to the river, not the part the band was on?

The Sunday events were great. Good Music, burgers and dogs, lots of adult beverages, great boats to look at, blue skies...does it get any better????

Here are some of the pics I took that weekend....
Divegirl and her hubby on their 340 Dancer. They had the best seats in the house for the music and food...

A big thanks to Trudeau's for a fantastic party and to CRYC for having the room on the docks for it. You guys down there really know how to toss a great party!

No I was not there, Trudeau sent me a rude email saying since i did not buy my boat there I was not invited to participate in the evening before tie up event, as earlier noted in an email the day before.

Since it left a bad taste, we chose to hang out at Salpar and shop for floating homes while on the boat of course, had a great dinner at the Island Cafe to round out the day. Will be on the river friday through the end of the weekend... this weekend sounds like awesome weather.

Scott

Not a whole lot of flat glass boats in those pictures! Were they all sequestered out of sight somewhere or were they put under so much pressure to buy new they finally caved?
