Aquapalooza - Oyster Bay Long Is., North Shore!

Hey Guys: You might want to contact Gina Barnett @ MM/SS3 since these are MM/SS3 sponsored events. I believe that Watch Hill doesn't officially open until Memorial day and MM/SS3 have the location locked up for the rendezvous so if you do not make the reservation through Gina Barnett, I think that you will be turned away from the event. Just some info that I think you need to know.

OJ...... I called Gina .... left her a message with all my info and my call back #. If I don't hear from her in a day or two....I'll call again.

Thanks for the info.................

Thanks, I should have mentioned that you have to contact you location rep or Gina to RSVP.

Don,

On the 22nd , I'm going up to Norwalk, let's try some other dates for us to get together.

Capt Bill

We are signed up for the Watch Hill event in May!

Hope the weather's nice.

Regards,

John

OJ & Don,

Are you guys gearing up for Watch Hill this weekend? We are busy trying to prep the boat since we just splashed last week, but we should make it.

Are you going on your own or will you be in Mark's flotilla? We have never been east of the bridge so we''ll be joining up.

See you there.

John

Hi Seabird: I am gearing up for this weekend. We still have stuff to bring down to the boat but we should be okay. We were thinking of going there on Friday evening while it is still light. We could probably leave around 7-7:15Pm and still make it with daylight left to spare. This thought is because on Saturday morning leaving with the group is going to be a zoo both going and when we get there. The other thought is to leave around 6-7AM on Saturday morning before the group leaves so we would get there earlier than the zoo. Haven't made that decision yet but will let you know.
BTW, where do you keep your boat?

OJ

OJ,

We are in SS3 like yourself over in "S" basin.

BTW, long range weather shows it raining late Friday afternoon into the evening tapering off on Sat. AM so you may want to wait it out a bit. This of course can change, but I hope it doesn't push into Sat. all day.

Have you been to Watch Hill before?

John

Seabird: I used to be in S23 before I bought the bigger boat. What slip are you in? Now I am in A24 just across the parking lot from you. We made a run to Watch Hill about 2 weekends ago with Steve and Peggy Lavelle (On A Whim located in S dock) and Capt Ciro from SS3. Steve and Peggy have been there around 3 times. As a matter of fact, they are there today with some friends who like yourself have never been there but now own a 380 up from a 280 and are also going to Watch Hill this weekend. If it is drizzling on Friday we may still go but we will see as the week progresses. Double D has a house in Copiague on the water which is where he keeps his boat. What is the name of your boat?

OJ

SeaBird...... We'll be heading over Friday morning about 9 ish....rain or shine.....doesn't matter. We'll be leaving from Copiague.
The boat is all packed ...fueled up and ready to go........I think we'll be over on D dock.....the name of our boat is Dog Daze......stop by and say hello.

O.J...... glad to hear your thinking of coming over on Friday also.....I have a feeling the flotilla will be a little crazy.

Looking forward to the first party of the season.............

OJ and Don,

We are in S3 and I just got back from placing her there this evening since she was over by the service area. Like yourself we have about 6" of clearance between the boat and the pilings. Boat name is at the bottom of all my posts.

We will be at C Pier Slip 4 this weekend so we will meet. See you then guys.

John

Seabird: We will be in D Land (D16). Are you coming with family/friends etc. We will be my wife, me and our pembroke welsh corgi named appropriately - just "Corgi"!
Have you heard what time flotilla is leaving on Saturday morning?

OJ

OJ,

Along with my wife and 11 year old son we'll be bringing along "Charlie the Chihuahua".

I have to go out on assignment for a few days, but will catch up with you on Saturday.

John

I've never done one of these things, what's involved? do you think it's too late to sign up? weather isn't the greatest but might be ok.

TurtleTone: I think it might be too late but try giving Gina Barnett a call. I don't have her number with me but her email address is:
gina.barnett@marinemax.com. ALso if you call SS3 in Lindenhurst they should be able to give you her number.
I think it will be a lot of fun and you should try to get in touch with her today.

Good Luck,
OJ
