Anywhere to camp on shore, via my boat, in mid-Chesapeake Bay?

We're trying to plan our annual camping trip, and I thought it would be fun to throw the tent on the boat and find someplace we could camp, but get there by boat. We're mid-Bay, so anything between roughly Rock Hall (I did find Hart Miller State Park, which looks great, but is a little too far for this trip I think) and Solomons would be reachable. I'm game for either pulling into shore and leaving the boat on the hook on a private beach, or finding and actual campground that has a dock I could tie up to (preferrable). Anybody know of such a place? Thanks for your help!

If you head up the Potomac a bit past Point Lookout, we have camped at Dennis Point Marina.

I've never been but I know someone that went boating around Wye Island. http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/eastern/wyeisland.asp It might be close to what you're looking for.

Elk Neck State Park. I know it is even farther than Hart-Miller but pretty cool place...

The thing about the bay is that most of the shores are private property. I always wanted to find a camping spot but I didn't want to trespass on private land. I have stayed at sea side viev which is up the st Mary's river, great people. I also have slept on the boat under the stars, just bring the bug spray.
