New to me 215. The way these operate seems opposite as they should. The starboard switch operates the port tab and vice versa. I kind of can see that but ALSO, depressing the top half of the switch lowers the trim tab and pushing the bottom half raises the trim tab. Does yours operate this way? Is my wiring reversed? These are factory original. Thanks for any replies.

That’s how it works. Nothing wrong with yours.

Don’t think about the tabs, think about the boat.

If you want port side bow to come down, press the top of the port side switch.

It’ll drop the starboard tab and lower the port side to level the boat.

Up is down, down is up. Poor design , makes no sense. Had a 245 weekender and flipped the switch 180. Powerquest I have now , left switch runs port tab and up is up, down is down

That is normal. Forget about what the tabs are doing. Instead, just think about what you want the port side and stbd side of the boat to do.

Now, at the switch, don't think of the switch as the typical "up" or "down". Think of it this way:

-- Pressing the top of the switch should be thought of as "pushing the bow down"

-- Pressing the bottom of the switch should be thought of as "pulling the bow up"... Technically, you could grab the top of the switch and "pull" it.

If you're at least familiar with how an airplane "stick" works, imagine the button is the airplane stick... push down and pull up.

Thanks for replies -so I’m not nuts and this is just very, let’s say, counter-freaking-intuitive. Holy cow. I was tying to use these backward all summer. Lol. Not till now with boat on trailer was I able to see action of each switch.

I’m amazed how well this boat cleans up being 25 years old. I know it was rackstored for many of those years but still the gelcoat seems really fantastic for its age. Impressed with these also for thoughtful layout/features and heavy duty nature. Wide beam for its length and high freeboard make it feel more stable than some others on this frequently rough lake.

70 mixed clouds/sun - good day to work outside.
