I'm considering getting a model made of my boat and noted a couple of companies came up for this....particularly SD Modelworks. Spoken to them, looked at their website, rec'd pricing, and pretty close to just moving forward and sending my 50% deposit, but was just curious if anyone out there has used them before. Thanks.

I'd love to do this. About how much can you expect to spend on a nice model?

They ask you for photos from all angles, a list of options, close ups of your dash and electronics package. They promise a replica of your boat not just a cookie cutter job. Quoted us $1500.00 last year, was a little too pricey at the time, maybe someday down the road.

That is pricey. Maybe before I sell the boat I'll have one made.

I always thought that would be awesome but not for the prices they want. I'd want the thing to be R/C for that kinda cash (which I'm sure they can do for more money!). I know the local dealers had a couple years ago.

I called them last year as well, quote was about the same 1600 for a full model, they also do half hull for about half the price. The craftsmanship seemed very good and would be nice to have especially during those long winter days. Opted to spend the money on a new dink...

Yep. The price is about what you guys said. For a 24" model, it's about $1700. I've taken all the pics. The are HALF of another company that's in the back of PMY, but that was completely rediculous anyway. Not sure if I'm going to sell my boat or not, but think I may bite the bullet and have it done.
