Recently bought a new home location that will eventually have a new boat dock too. We are thinking about installing the SlideMoor system. Wondered if anyone here has it, how they like it and if they have any install/user tips please? Thanks in advance for any input!

I purchased Tideslides in the spring though they are expensive they are worth every penny. Compare before you buy.

Good luck,
Tom

ps. I think this time of year the offer a discount for boat shows.

Thx Tom. Will do some comparisons too. Pleased to hear you like your system!

To me, the use of SlideMoor or Tide Slides or any other system is sea state and situation dependent. I'm in a marina in an old channel that was bypassed to make way for a power plant cooling system and a deep water terminal. If you didn't know where it was, you'd miss the turn!!! Very calm and no wakes. It has an average 3 tidal swing (hi to lo). I've seen eye splices over an "O" that's passed over a set of galvanized pipes to an old York barbell weight attached to a line running through a pulley. Bottom line is when all was said and done, all four corners were done for less than one slider.

IF you have a lot of waking and stuff, of course, different situation.

I've heard great things about SlideMoor! Like David mentioned their system is situation dependent so I would recommend giving them a call to see if it would work for you. They also might be able to answer any questions you have regarding install and product comparison. I went on their website and their number is (239) 263-7044, their website seems pretty informational too. Hope this helps. :)

David, do you know of any pictures of the rig you mentioned? Trying to visualize...

Thanks everyone! I checked their web site out awhile ago and thought it would be a good solution for our new situation but was just wondering if anyone had first hand experience. Think we are going with it so will post experiences when we do for anyone else who may need info.

Hope this gives you a general idea. IMO, it's WAY overthunk!

Here is as close as I can get to a set of rings over pipes.

https://www.dockbuilders.com/tideslide-mooring-products-systems.htm

Instead of the bracket, picture a flange and a nipple and an elbow. Instead of the shiny stainless rod, picture a galvanized pipe. Instead of the nylon slider and cleat slid over the shiny stainless rod, picture an "O" ring slid over the galvanized pipe. Instead of securing the line to the cleat, you secure the line to the ring. If it ever quits raining I'll try to get a pix of the one at the marina.

Another option if you have heavy tide action is a tidal ring. this is the most economical one ready made. You could easily make one yourself.

Same concept but more $$$

Very cool. Thanks David.

Well we have our boat moved to her new home and we are using the SlideMoor system. So far we are beyond impressed! So much easier to get away without so many lines to untie, no outer pilings to contend with and we even decided to have a "belts and braces" line too. The other bonus we did not expect is that when other boats go by she doesn't move much, little to no rocking at all, because she's tied so tight to the SlideMoor. Really helps to not spill the red wine:) Really recommend the system, it's awesome!
