Question for you guys. Does anyone transport an 05 ish 320DA stern drive by trailer or had one transported for them? Does the arch have to come off or just the stuff on top need to come down. Would it be able to be trailered with the arch in place with the bunk height at 41 inches?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks, Kevin.

That's pretty tall. don't think that will get down the street very far. my 290 is tall on a hydraulic trailer and the keel is probably 12"-14" off the ground at most. it's full of leaves, stocks and pine needles when it gets home.

Mine was transported from LI to Boston when we traded her they removed the arch and secured it to the bow before the tractor trailer showed up. I have heard shrinkwrap the boat before it goes mine wasn't.

My 340 was transported across the country from NV to MA. The arch stayed up with everything off of it. It wouldn't have been possible with inboards but with stern drives and a low boy trailer they got it low enough to be legal. It took me a while to fine someone with the right trailer that made that possible. i had mine shrink wrapped out in NV but it didn't make it the whole trip. A tree caught it somewhere along the line and it was flapping so the driver had to pull it off.

My 340 was transported from Missouri to Florida with the arch up. We did have to remove the props to get it low enough on trailer. IMG_1882.jpgIMG_1885.jpgIMG_1906.jpg

I really admire the bigger boats, but I sure don't envy you guys the storage and transportation issues.

Just a note on the shrink wrap, I have shipped two boats, both haulers begged for no shrink wrap!

When (not if) it tears mid way it can create some serious rub marks in the gelcoat. Every truck caries tape with them but they cant always catch the tears in time. A flap of shrink wrap rubbing against gelcoat for 3-4 hours at 65mph can do a LOT of damage.

Most haulers recommend saving the money on shrink wrap and spend it on a good detail at delivery.

Try Boltman,i believe he used to trailer his 320.

My 2006 320 was transported from Austin, TX to New Jersey without removing the arch or the open-array radar unit.

I bought my 310 in FL. and trailered it back to Indiana without removing the arch. I did remove everything from the arch.
I am not sure what my bunk height is but I do have V drives.
The trailer is not here for me to measure.

Arch needs to be clean. Depends where you are going to transport to. If you are staying in FL you are fine. You are probably at 13'6 to 13'8 loaded. So you are fine 13'6 is legal. 13'8 is overheight as well . Permit for both now. You really don't need to take arch off unless you're going to certain areas. Don't shrink wrap it as well.

Awesome thanks all I will pass on info to my friend.
