Anyone Still Boating?

77 degrees this weekend in St. Petersburg!. I'll be out a few days (or maybe just one) depending on my hangover New years day.

We are hoping to go out for New Years for a couple of days. Thw wind and storms seem to be settling down from the 50+ knots last week... but below freezing this morning.

We will be out this weekend also! Get to try out that shiny new SS anchor!!

Oh yes, out all day boxing day with the family, bit of cruising and a bit of fishing. Well fish feeding actualy (fed them but didnt catch them). Treated ourselves to some soft bait rigs in the sales to improve our luck. Out again at the weekend forecast is looking awesome, a big fat high sitting over Auckland all over the weekend and early next week.
Will be watching the new year in at anchor (a dull galvanised one) with a view of the Sky Tower. Pics may follow

Sea Trialed in Newport Beach yesterday and it was amazing weather! Pictures will be added this evening...

Just returned from a week in San Francisco. A handful of hardy soles were boating on the bay, mostly sailors and a pilot house boater or two. The cabbage patch looked pretty awful.

I am boating every night in my dreams. Or on days like today when I look through all my pictures of boating days gone by. I am addicted to my boat. Please dont do an intervention.

We spent our first night on the "hook" last night! We are anchored in a cove with the back end looking at Ponce Inlet and the Lighthouse! This is so relaxing and calming! Very pleased with the boat. A 280 is definitely a two person boat!! Also very happy with the new hinged plow ss anchor! It set very easy and held us in the strong wind and current! Just need an inverter so I don,t have to start gen for light loads.

Took mine out yesterday - couldn't resist 66* on New Years Day! Ended up being a little chilly out but was still nice being back on the water. Forgot the camera but we still had some snow in certain spots - certainly been a strange winter!

3 hour ride yesterday across the Chesapeake Bay and back. 65 degrees, partly cloudy and wind out of the South at <10 mph.

One hour puttering around on NYE with a boat load of kids. It took that long for each to get two turns steering the boat. Awesome.
