Anyone Raise their Captains Chair on a 340 Sundancer?

Myself as well as my friend with the same 340 Sundancer have to sit on square throw cushion to get a better view from the helm. I have started to look at ways to raise it up but and trying to decide if I should raise them both or just the captains? thoughts or suggestions?

I have the same issue with the helm seats too low. I feel like my knee caps are up in my chest. I was thinking of buying new pedestals, but wonder what happens to the bolts when I take off the old one. Do they drop and disappear? There is no access from below.

Hey Scott at least if my feet were hanging, I wouldn’t put black marks on the floor.....:grin:

Does not looking to hard to raise, just add a couple more starboard slats under the seat with longer bolts. The only pain is you have to take the seat off first so you can pull the existing screws as they are about 3 inches. I just dont know if I would raise both seats of just the one. The throw cushion could not be more uncomfortable especially on long rides.

That is one way, but would it be stable in rough seas? Replacing the pedestal with one that would put your seat higher would be the right way to go.

Our seats do not have an actual pedestal. The captains chair is the only one with a forward and back slide and below that is just 2 slats of starboard on each side with screws through the storage compartment below. I wouldn't imagine that adding 3 more inches and lengthening the screws would make it any less strong.
