Hi,
Anyone in the club who boats on Lake Wallenpaupack? I will be docked at Seeley's Marina.

Nick

my dad has had his boat on the lake for more than 13 years. i've spent a fair amt of time on the lake as well. he is in a marina associated with his development (tanglewood lakes estates). it is on 507 just across the road from the entrance sign to paupack hills golf club.

the lake is great. but CRAZY on weekends!

rondds,
Like looking boat you have. Where abouts do you keep her? My sister and Brother-in-law have a boat down at Cape May.

I just launched mine this past Sunday. Weather was crazy, windy etc but it's in and all ready to go.

Lake Wallenpaupack Guys,

We have family about one hour away in New York State. I am trying to plan some boating into a family visit trip. Wallenpaupack seems to be the place.

Any advice on places to launch, stay or avoid for someone who'se never been there? We will be going sometime during July 4th week.

Thanks!

Boating
Cruising, water-skiing and sailing are popular activities on the 5,700-acre lake. PPL campground directors maintain boat ramps and slip dock rentals at the four recreation areas. Many resorts and marinas offer boats and water-skiing equipment for rent. A fee of $7 for boat launching is charged at the Caffrey, Ironwood Point, Ledgedale and Wilsonville recreation areas. Register with the director. Boat sewage holding tanks can be pumped at the Caffrey and Wilsonville areas for a fee of $10. there are also a BUNCH of marinas that dot the lake on the east side, all along route 507. many are full service marinas and dealerships, and they all have ramps (that's the only way to get boats in and out of the lake - there are no forklifts or travellifts). i'm sure you could launch anywhere for a fee. try to confine your boating to a weekday if possible. weekends and holidays are really crazy. you could do the whole lake in a day as it is only 13 miles long, maybe 2 miles wide.

We have our boat docked on the lake. It is a big lake that gets busy on some weekends. There are several good restaurants that you can get to by boat.

I do. I have been there for many years. My boat is docked not to far away. Im around the corner at Landis Marine(tanglwood Resort). I love it. I mark it by the resort and by the double decker pontoon on the mooring ball.

Do you recognize this boat? Bought it off Lake W. in 1999. It lived there it's whole life. Still have the CV-23 plus the 270....Mike.

We think about trailering our 190 SD up there every year... We have a home in Tannersville and it would not be all that far... Maybe this year we will make it up there...

Havent been on CSR for a while, sorry for the delay.
Yes, we boat there every summer. Keep an eye out for us if you come up.

My family had a house on the lake nearly 40 years ago. What a great place. Is there still a hogie boat that comes around and makes them to order at your dock? Do they still put Reddy Killowatt (mascot of the power company) on the ice in the spring and take bets on when he will fall in? I have some great memories of your lake. Enjoy.

No kidding ! We were on the boat Sunday and I joked I was going to quit my day job and set up a beer & hoagie shack on a dock or put it on a floating dock in the middle of the lake !! As far as I know, what you remember no longer exists. As for Reddy Killowatt, I'll have to ask some of the others if they still do that. Were not out of hibernation when there is still ice on the lake !

The hoagie boat was the best. They would pull right up to your dock (or boat) and make the sandwichs right there. If memory serves, it was an inboard and they setup a cutting board on the engine cover. It was a long time ago...
